Characteristic Evaluation of Different Carbonization Processes for Hydrochar, Torrefied Char, and Biochar Produced from Cattle Manure

The amount of cattle manure generated accounts for over 40% the livestock in South Korea. Most is utilized as a fertilizer and soil amendment. However, nutrients have exceeded saturation Accordingly, manure, including lignocellulosic biomass, was applied solid fuel production this study. three different types carbonization process, namely, hydrothermal carbonization, torrefaction, (slow pyrolysis), were estimated comparison hydrochar, torrefied char, biochar characteristics derived from manure. processes performed at temperatures ranging 190 to 450 °C. evaluation produced by conducted proximate, ultimate, calorific value, ratio, energy yield, which used analysis quality. Additionally, ash properties, silicon dioxide, chlorine, base-to-acid ratio (B/A) on investigated predict deposition during combustion. These analyses are essential stabilize operation combustion chamber. thermogravimetric represented upgraded quality processes.
